There is a growing trend of global organisations shifting focus, from product-oriented to service-oriented.
These organisations are driven forward by the needs of their users. Philips is one of the global companies involved in this paradigm shift. With “sense and simplicity” as its core philosophy, Philips emphasizes the power of its services and products to influence the ecosystem of the consumer in a simple and beneficial way.
We met Ton Borsboom, Senior Director for New Business Europe, at the Philips Design facility located in the famous “De Witte Dame” at Eindhoven in The Netherlands. Ton is passionate about human-centred design and its importance for the success of businesses in the future. He believes in taking a dive into the contexts, needs and aspirations of people to develop product-service ecosystems. He talked to us about how design offers businesses different opportunities and ways to innovate and secure a sustainable and profitable future.
